Mike will once again do a presentation at Men of His Word sharing the idea of "The Family Church", the reality that a child's first experience with the Church is really in the family, making Dad, the first Pastor that children encounter. Here's the summary for his session: As many walk away from church and as the role of fathers diminishes, Christians are asking how God will move in this generation and beyond. While strategies for worship and outreach are worth wrestling with, the reality is if Jesus isn't the center of the family, the church is hard pressed to be a sustainable force for good in the community. The reality is that a child's first experience as part of "the church" is in its family, with the parents as the first pastor. In this session we'll look at this smallest version of the "body of Christ" and what a strong Family Church can mean for the Gospel's impact in the church and community through the generations.
